Created by Performix, SST stands for suspension super thermogenic and is a supplement that is taken to burn fat, build lean muscles, and increase mental focus.1 Performix products are all driven by their TERRA intelligent dosing technology which allows the supplement ingredients to be released into the body in multiple targeted phases. The main goal of the Performix SST supplement is to ultimately burn body fat, boost energy levels and mood, while promoting an increased resting metabolic rate.1

SST Performix Ingredients

Performix SST is a proprietary blend made up of 13 different ingredients including vitamins and herbs, with some rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Below is an overview of each key ingredient and its uses, along with how it works in the body to achieve results.

Performix upper Suspension Super Thermo Complex: 1,170 mg

Niacin (12 mg) – Known as a form of vitamin B3, niacin may be taken to improve digestion, lower cholesterol levels, and increase circulation in the body.12

Vitamin B-12 (1000 mcg) – Vitamin B-12 helps maintain the body’s central nervous system, and may be taken to improve mood and indigestion.13

Caffeine Anhydrous – Caffeine Anhydrous is known as a concentrated caffeine powder that can be taken before high-intensity workouts to increase performance and energy levels.2

A scientific study found that taking Ashwagandha extract may help reduce stress levels in adults while promoting a general sense of well-being.3

Sensoril Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) – Sensoril Ashwagandha root and leaf extract is also known as Indian ginseng and has traditionally been used to treat a variety of conditions.

Theacrine Mucuna pruriens Mucuna pruriens is a type of bean that has traditionally been used to treat male infertility and nervous disorders. It is also said to help brain function as it is known to be rich in crude protein, essential fatty acids and amino acids.4

Cayenne pepper (Capsicum annuum) – Cayenne pepper originally comes from South America and is known as a common spice. It is said that incorporating cayenne into your everyday diet can help with weight loss as it can decrease hunger while increasing the number of calories burned.5

Yohimbine HCI – Yohimbine is taken from the bark of an evergreen tree that is native to Western Africa. While it has traditionally been used to increase sexual desire, it has also been taken as a dietary supplement to increase athletic performance and weight loss.6

Huperzine A (Huperzia serrata) – Huperzine A, known as Huperzia serrata, is a Chinese medicinal herb and has been traditionally used to treat conditions like Alzheimer’s disease and memory loss. In clinical trials, this herb has been shown to improve brain function and memory along with mental and behavioral function.7

BioPerine black pepper (Piper nigrum) extract – Black pepper, also known as Piper nigrum, comes from a flowering vine and is then dried and used as a spice. Often referred to as the ‘king of spices’ it has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, and can also be used to aid digestion.8

Diffusion Carrier Oil

Medium Chain Triglycerides – Medium chain triglyceride (MCT) is a fatty acid that is known for having a positive effect on weight management and energy levels.9

Safflower is thought to stimulate the heart, lower cholesterol levels and may help with weight loss.10

Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) extract – Safflower is a traditional Chinese herb that has been historically used to treat symptoms of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.10

Ginger (Zingiber officinale) CO2 supercritical extract – Ginger is a common spice that has traditionally been used in Chinese Medicine to treat colds, upset stomach, digestion issues, migraines and more. It is known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.11

SST Supplement Directions

According to the Performix SST label, users are instructed to take two SST capsules every morning on an empty stomach. Performix recommends that you first assess your tolerance by taking only one capsule a day before eventually working your way up to taking the recommended two capsules daily.

Performix SST Side Effects

While there aren’t any major side effects of Performix SST, it is important to not take this product with any additional supplements containing caffeine. Since this product contains 200 mg of caffeine it may cause jitteriness in some users who are caffeine sensitive. High doses of niacin may cause users to experience upset stomach, gas and dizziness.12 Make sure to take the recommended dose on an empty stomach, as some users found that it can cause vomiting or diarrhea if not taken correctly.

According to the Performix SST website, it is not recommended to consume alcohol while taking this product, take within six hours of your regular bedtime or take longer than eight weeks.1

Does Performix SST Thermogenic Work?

By now you may be wondering, does SST really work? Performix SST contains caffeine which is known to help athletic performance. A recent scientific study found that taking caffeine one hour prior to exercise not only increases energy levels, but also can increase performance and endurance.2 This product also contains cayenne pepper powder which may also aid in weight loss. A study found that by adding 10 mg of cayenne to each meal, or 28 mg in a day, caused the number of calories burned to increase slightly while also reducing hunger.5

It is important to note that in order to reap the maximum benefits of Performix SST, users should also maintain a healthy diet and regular exercise.
