Calcium (as Calcium Carbonate): 50mg — Calcium is a mineral that the body uses to keep bones, muscles, the heart, and the nervous system healthy. Studies suggest that a calcium-deficient diet may be associated with a higher body weight.2

Chromium (as Chromium Polynicotinate): 200mcg — Chromium is a mineral known to increase the functionality of the body’s insulin supply. In turn, insulin plays a critical role in the way the body metabolizes and stores fat, protein, and carbohydrates. There is considerable speculation that chromium may even have a direct impact on the metabolism, but research is still ongoing.4

Potassium (as Potassium Citrate): 50mg — Potassium is a mineral that plays many roles in the human body, including supporting hormone secretion, muscle building and maintaining normal body growth. Potassium also helps the body break down and use carbohydrates.5 It is often included in supplements like Extreme Fit 180 to help the body use energy from carbohydrates more efficiently.

Garcinia cambogia has also been studied for its effects on gastrointestinal issues and rheumatism.6

Garcinia Cambogia Extract: 1000mg — Garcinia cambogia is a fruit from Southeast Asia which contains Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA). HCA is said to inhibit an enzyme normally used by the body to transform glucose into fat. While there is a considerable amount of anecdotal evidence linking HCA to weight loss, preliminary human studies are still ongoing.6

According to the company that produces it, a single capsule of Extreme Fit 180 is to be taken orally twice a day. Special considerations apply to individuals who are diabetic or hypoglycemic. The chromium in Extreme Fit 180 can increase sensitivity to insulin in some users, and affect the levels of glucose in their blood. As such, hypoglycemic or diabetic users are urged only to use this product under the supervision of a doctor.

Extreme Fit 180 Side Effects

Before you decide to try Extreme Fit 180, you may be curious about whether or not it has any potential side effects. Although the product itself does not list possible side effects, several of the active ingredients may cause minor side effects. For example, calcium may cause an upset stomach, vomiting, belching, constipation, dry mouth, increased urination, or general stomach pain.3 It may also cause a loss of appetite, which may explain why it is included in Extreme Fit 180. Does Extreme Fit 180 Garcinia Work?

Extreme Fit 180 attributes most of its weight-loss potential to the Garcinia cambogia extract. The product’s website claims that it can reduce both appetite and cholesterol in users, while maintaining healthy lipid levels.

In an eight-week clinical trial, moderately obese adults were given regular doses of HCA before meals and experienced 5-6% reductions in both BMI and body weight, along with significant reductions in cholesterol.7

In some studies, doses as low as 150 mg of chromium have been shown to decrease low-density-lipoprotein, also known as LDL or ‘bad’ cholesterol.4

In a separate 2014 study, Garcinia cambogia was shown to have a hypotriglyceridemic effect on obese women. The subjects took 2.4 g of Garcinia cambogia (standardized to 50% HCA) daily for 60 days which resulted in triglyceride levels decreasing by nearly one-third.8 Triglycerides are a type of fat which can raise the risk of heart disease in high levels. While anecdotal Extreme Fit 180 reviews are mixed, users are instructed to combine this product with a healthy diet and regular exercise for optimal results.
