Designed to improve the look and feel of beard hair growth supplement, Beard Czar contains 12 active ingredients. For unknown reasons, the Beard Czar website does not display the full supplements facts panel, leaving customers to guess what the product may contain. After some investigation, Better Health Organization has uncovered the active ingredients of the Beard Czar products.

Vitamin A: 2500 IU – Vitamin A is a fat-soluble nutrient that helps maintain healthy eyes, skin, and immune system.2,3

Vitamin C: 60 mg – Also known as ascorbic acid, vitamin C acts as a powerful antioxidant that helps strengthen the immune system, collagen production, and can help heal wounds.5 Male adults should get 90 mg of Vitamin C daily.4

Vitamin E:  30 IU – Vitamin E is another antioxidant that helps protect the body from free radicals and supports red blood cell function.5

Niacin: 10 mg – A type of B vitamin, niacin aids the skin, supports sex hormone production, circulation and can help reduce inflammation.6,7 A deficiency of niacin may cause a condition known as pellagra which includes symptoms such as inflamed skin.6

The word pantothenic is derived from the Greek root pantos, meaning ‘everywhere’ as vitamin B5 is found in a wide range of foods.11

Biotin: 3000 mcg – Biotin is a vitamin that helps break down carbohydrates, fats and other nutrients in the body. A biotin deficiency can lead to hair loss, rapid weight loss, brittle nails, depression and diabetes.8 While there is currently no recommended dietary allowance for biotin, adequate intakes for adults is 30 mcg a day.8

Vitamin B6: 2 mg – A water-soluble nutrient, vitamin B6 helps the body to form antibodies, regulate blood sugar, make hemoglobin, protect nerve function and complete protein metabolism.9 Males 14-50 should get 1.3 mg a day and men over 50 should obtain 1.7 mg per day. A vitamin B6 deficiency may affect the skin or circulatory system.10

Vitamin B5: 13.5 mg – Pantothenic acid is one of eight B vitamins that helps breakdown fats and carbohydrates in the body. Vitamin B5 is also important for the production of stress and sex hormones.11

Coleus Forskohlii Extract – An herb traditionally claimed to boost testosterone and reduce body fat, coleus forskohlii is often found in fat burning supplements. In vitro studies show that coleus forskolii can increase cellular levels of cyclic adenosine monophosphate, a molecule associated with increased fat loss.14

Caralluma Powder – A widely available plant found in India, caralluma fimbriata has been associated with natural appetite suppression.15

Garcinia Cambogia – Claimed to aid fat loss, garcinia cambogia is one of the most talked about supplements in recent years. Based on the active ingredient hydroxycitric acid (HCA), which in vivo studies can stimulate fat oxidation and promote the release of serotonin.16

Green Coffee Bean Extract – Derived from green coffee beans, this extract is marketed to aid weight loss and improve heart health. 17

Beard Czar Directions

According to the Beard Czar label, users should take one capsule daily. Capsules should be taken with water or a meal.

Beard Czar Side Effects

While the Beard Czar label and website do not list any side effects associated with taking their supplement, it’s possible these ingredients may cause some adverse reactions. Based upon current scientific research, known doses and customer testimonials, Better Health Organization has compiled a list of possible side effects.

As the ingredient with the largest dose, biotin is considered well-tolerated by most people with no adverse side effects reported when taken at doses up to 30 mg a day.18 Supplementing with niacin may cause a temporary and completely harmless ‘niacin flush’ in the body. This sensation may cause a mild tingling or itchy feeling on the face, neck, chest or arms. Horsetail may act like a diuretic in the body and increase the frequency of urination.13 Some users may also experience an upset stomach or a decrease in blood pressure from green coffee bean extract.17

While consuming vitamin E is not harmful, high doses of vitamin E obtained through supplementation may increase the risk of bleeding. For individuals 14 years or older, the recommended dietary allowance is 15 mg a day.5 Niacin may also increase blood sugar levels in some users. In rare cases, niacin may also worsen allergies by increasing levels of histamine in the body. According to health care practitioners, users with a history of stomach ulcers, liver disease, kidney disease or low blood pressure should not take products with niacin.7

Does Beard Czar Work?

After careful evaluation of the ingredients used, a review of current scientific studies, and consumer reviews, below are the projected results for Beard Czar.

With seven different types of vitamins, Beard Czar may help reduce any nutrient deficiencies users may have. In the body, a lack of niacin may cause skin inflammation, which may be relieved after supplementation. Preliminary evidence has also noted that vitamin B5 may have moisturizing effects on the skin, particularly when combined with vitamin C.11 Further, increased levels of vitamin C and vitamin E can moderately increase antioxidant levels in the body and help protect against cell damage.4,5 Vitamin A, C, and E also support the immune system and its functions.3,4,5 B vitamins may help improve digestive track functions and overall gastrointestinal health.7,11

In one study on biotin and hair growth, a group of 30 subjects received a biotin supplement orally for 3-months, while a second group of 30 received a placebo. The biotin group saw less hair shedding during washing and routine care, faster hair growth, and thicker, stronger hair.

Beard Czar does not adverse any celebrity endorsements or independent certifications. While these factors do not make Beard Czar scam or ineffective products, they do help add credibility to supplements sold online.
