With a surprisingly limited number of ingredients, the Alpha Plus Test Booster formula lists only five active ingredients. But of these listed Alpha Plus Test Booster, could Muira puama also known as “potency wood” be the secret to enhanced physical and sexual performance?

With several herbal extracts traditionally used to boost men’s health, are these five Alpha Plus Test Booster ingredients the key to unlocking your potential?

Alpha Plus Test Booster Ingredients

The five active Alpha Plus Test Booster ingredients include Muira Puama Bark Powder, Fenugreek Seed Powder, Testo Boron, Eurycoma Longifolia Extract, and Black Pepper Extract. Four of these ingredients are herbal supplements that have been used in traditional medicine around the world for centuries. Only one of them—Testo Boron—is a proprietary formula that contributes boron citrate (a preparation of the chemical element Boron).

Below, you’ll find an explanation of each ingredient and what it may contribute to the results of the Alpha Plus Test Booster formula.

Muira Puama Bark Powder: 400 mgNative to Brazil, the bark of the Muira puama plant is believed to increase sexual function in both men and women.  Traditionally known as “potency wood”, efficacy is largely based off anecdotal evidence and folk wisdom that claims Muira puama increases sexual stamina and function. Preliminary human studies are currently in progress.2

In supplements, fenugreek may be referred to as Testofen or by its scientific name, Trigonella foenum-graecum.3

Fenugreek Seed Powder: 300 mgCommonly used as an herb or spice, fenugreek has historically been used for a variety of conditions, particularly those pertaining to hormonal health. Preliminary research noted that fenugreek supplementation may promote increases in both total and free testosterone in men with hypogondism.3

Testo Boron: 200 mgBoron is a trace mineral essential for bone development and health.4 While boron’s role in sex hormones is still unclear, studies involving boron supplementation have shown increased sex hormones in both males and females.4 Boron may also be required for activation of selected steroid hormones.4 Along with other essential minerals, boron is often included in supplements for increasing muscle mass.

Eurycoma Longifolia Extract: 100 mgEurycoma longifolia is another example of an herbal remedy that has traditionally been used as an aphrodisiac. There have been several studies showing a relationship between Eurycoma longifolia and erectile function, but its mechanism remains unknown.5

Black Pepper Extract: 5mg Used widely in traditional health systems such as Ayurveda and Unani, black pepper has been studied for what is believed to be an enormous number of health enhancing properties. These include antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, lipid metabolism acceleration and bio-enhancing ability.7

Although the Alpha Plus Test Booster manufacturers do not make any specific claims regarding the use of Black Pepper Extract in their product, it’s often added to supplements to improve the bioavailability of drugs.

How to Use Alpha Plus Test Booster

The Alpha Plus Test Booster directions listed on the bottle are straightforward and instruct users to take two capsules per day, with or without food.

Alpha Plus Test Booster Side Effects

There are no side effects of the Test Booster supplement listed on the supplement’s advertising or packaging. In general, herbal remedies for sexual performance have been associated with side effects such as mood elevation and increased feelings of anxiety.2 Anecdotal reports of prolonged or painful erections have been associated with Muira puama supplementation. However, the dose used was not provided.

Increases in fatigue has been reported in as a possible side effect Eurycoma longifolia. However, this was reported to disappear within two weeks of supplementation.8 Fenugreek has been noted to possibly cause diarrhea, as well as adding a maple-like smell to urine. In some studies, it has been shown to lower blood sugar levels and act like estrogen in the body.6 Patients with diabetes or hormone-sensitive cancers should speak with a healthcare provider before taking Alpha Plus Test Booster.

Does Alpha Plus Test Booster Work?

Several ingredients in the Alpha Plus Test Booster formula have been shown to exhibit connections to aspects such as sexual libido, erectile function and sex hormone levels.

Limited studies have examined the effects of Muira puama on men’s sexual health. The results of a 1994 study show that Muira puama may improve sexual desire in men with low sexual libido.2 Similarly, 50% of men with erectile dysfunction reported improved erections after supplementation.

In a 2013, taking 200 mg of Eurycoma longifolia was shown to improve psychological mood and stress hormone levels in stressed participants. After four weeks of supplementation, cortisol (stress hormone) levels were reduced by 16% while testosterone was increased 36%.8 Likewise, a similar study noted that male participants who were taking fenugreek seed supplements reported more favorable sexual function than participants in the control group.3

Many of the claims made by Alpha Plus Test Booster are based on its ability to increase testosterone levels naturally. While men who are low testosterone may experience more pronounced effects, a majority of studies have been based on men with low testosterone levels, libido or erectile dysfunction. Online Alpha Plus Test Booster reviews are mixed. While some report significant results, others note milder improvements.
